Driver Licence Name Change

If you are changing your name after marriage or seperation you can update your licence at any time. It is a good idea to update your driver licence and passport at the same time so that your identification is consistently under the same name.  If you have legally changed your name you must update your licence immediatley. 

You will need to visit a NZ Transport office in person to have your licence updated.  This is so that a photo can be taken and your new signature can be recorded. You will need to take certain documents with you to have your request processed on the spot.
